Thanking the sunlight
And the gift of song
Thanking guiding spirit’s love
making clear right from wrong
Thanking sanity and open eyes that see
Thanking partnerships
Thanking you and me
Thanking ears that listen to all that's ever said
And the comfort of the bed I lay to rest my head
For food and warmth and water fresh
Books and music
Sweet mortal flesh
The trees
The breeze
The pleasing sky
The what... the who... the where... the why
The stranger and the ancient witness
The sages with their soulful fitness
The poets with their words so thrilling
And those whose hearts are more than willing
