A Prayer a Day

Abuses can be subtle and insidious
or brutally open aired and obvious
to everyone concerned
I devote my prayers this day to humanity
giving up its ferocious appetite
for abuse, punishment, and the flagrant use of poisonous words
Suggesting we problem solve without clubs or weapons
Meeting one another face to face
Coming out from the shadows of masquerading
Eyes open... hearts willing
Into the light of truth
Everyone breathes
Everyone bleeds
Everyone weeps
Everyone loves
Everyone dies
Why not spend our time together smelling the roses as “they” say
Earth can be a heavenly place.... pray we choose it!
A bird flying high knows how it feels
