A Prayer a Day

Save the children

echoed through my mind

and heart this morning

reminding me once again

of how selfish and abusive

the ego psyche

can be and has been

when favoring

paradigms of the material in this world

Protect the innocent for goodness sake

Take precious care of the pure of heart

Give your intelligent attention

and focus on the needs of the vulnerable

Respect the value of your compassion

and the truth that breathes your spirit

And from that place in you where

love and light reside and tenderness

is rooted, stake claim to harmlessness
