A Prayer a Day

We in this world do not experience
personal satisfaction,
necessarily for the same reasons.
We all have our private desires
and they indeed differ greatly.
Perhaps, it is the very thing that gives life her spark.
Arriving at particular solutions to earthly problems,
rarely pleases all concerned in the very same ways.
Compromising seems the
act of sensibility for the settling
of disputes, but it often leaves a backwash of
dissatisfaction scattered through the ranks.
Seldom do we get, as individuals,
everything we want, when or as we want it.
Thank god for the realm of human imagination,
where we dare to alchemize our satisfaction.
Where our dreams are a salve for soothing needs,
and planting seeds made of the visions of the heart.
Flowering in the elegance
of music and books and paintings
and dance and poetry and
the wisdom of the spoken word;
giving back to the world in
ways in which perhaps in moments
actually transcend all differences,
speaking collectively maybe just for a sacred beat.....truly satisfying the whole.
YES! TO THE ART of OUR HEARTS FOR SATISFACTION!
