A Prayer a Day

Let’s say we make the choice for doing something nasty to someone who was nasty to us, and then they get evil back with us, and then we get nasty-nasty back again with them, and then they get evil with someone we love, and then we get really evil with someone they love, and then someone they love does something awful with our beloved, and then our beloved passionately, blindly bashes their beloved, and on and on it goes spiraling
into the mortal soap opera of a black whole of nothing but red hot destruction….like…… Oh I don’t know….let’s say….WAR
Or
We could make the choice to be kind, forgiving, empathetic,
willing to compromise and deepen in our mind’s understanding.
We could actively participate with the knowledge of our spirits,
committed to sharing the best of ourselves in concert with the rest of humanity.
Life would indeed be for all concerned, far more harmonious,
not all roses perhaps, for we do once in awhile find ourselves
among desert cacti rolling and rocking in the roar of wild winds
only to muscle our resources.
Isn’t the life worth living rich with giving and receiving
from the core of our hearts and the wisdom of our souls ?
Let us not allow any further escalation of the wrath of our egos.
