A Prayer a Day

In moments when
I care not to sing a song of YES
into this lovely life, feeling oddly
duped by the strategies of human doings,
I dance my tongue with a song of NO!
Breathing deliberately,
suspending in time,
reorganizing my sensibilities,
allied to heart, to spirit, to soul
musing this strange land we mortals design.
A compelling virtue of critical self-examination
calls me to follow an innocent path's return to center.
There are days when NO is the passkey!
And days when YES is the word
that rings the bells and opens the gates
to life and all her melodies so divinely
offered for us to sing.
