A Prayer a Day

Walking, listening, watching,
smelling the sweetness of the cool breeze,
feeling the sunlight excite every cell of me.
Remembering running as a child,
rolling on the grass, climbing trees.
Remembering digging into the
garden soil planting bulbs that would
mature into the most beautiful colors of tulips.
And the roses...oh the roses!
Remembering blue jays and robins,
yellow jackets and lightening bugs.
Playing in the neighborhood
with my twin brother and our friends,
with the greatest of theatrical imaginations!
The calls for dinner.
The hours on Jones Beach.
My loyal dog and I palling out
snuggling in front of the tv.
Thankful for each memory
that rushes now through my heart,
as I gratefully live another day
moving on this mother planet
fortunate enough to be able
to freely create more memories.
