A Prayer a Day

When the unexpected falls upon
us, too suddenly shredding the
reality we label secure
And the hidden
sharp edges of an unknown
dramatically cut
through the moments
challenging the absoluteness of our vulnerability,
as we are spinning through time and space
in these blood-flowing-flesh
and bone vessels ....we call bodies
Let us call to prayer
with deep and pure breath
the spirit within our hearts
to strengthen our resolve
and fortify our faith in
the healing powers of acceptance
fearlessly and gracefully respecting
the mystery of mortality
and the nature of impermanence
