A Prayer a Day

Blessed be each moment given
Blessed be the cat, trustingly purring with pleasure
now curled upon my lap, sharing the elegance
of her feline being-ness, with an infusion
of a pure loving affection
I AM forever grateful to the divine animal kingdom
Blessed be life’s water that flows freely from my tap
I do not take water for granted
And oh the magic of electricity that turns on
the lights and is the energizer for our gadgets
Blessed be my human ears that can
hear the voices speaking on the radio
with information about what’s going on in this world
My heart goes out, with compassion for
the masses who (at this very moment)
are experiencing unimaginable struggle
Pray that the wisest among us, with the
greatest creative forces available, across the globe,
shall come to rise high, affectively confronting and mitigating
what appears to be presenting as monstrously biblical conditions of suffering.
