A Prayer a Day

We all experience
battles of the mind.
With lovers, siblings, friends,
strangers and certainly with ourselves.
We can’t and don’t all think alike
and so we wrestle with one another,
power playing in winner /loser games
Desperate to come to an
agreement, wildly debating
what is true and what is not true.
And unfortunately egos step in
time and time again tearing at the
fabric of emotional maturity for
reasonable solutions.
Respect is the key, don’t you agree,
no matter the seed of the issue
giving rise to the altercation.
Today my humble wish
and wholesome prayer is for
us to consider the creative value
of listening and making room
in our thinking capacity to
allow for the breath of
other points of view
It is not easy, but essential
in order for us to live together
in a harmonious and sane reality.
I vote for divine discernment.
