A Prayer a Day

When I was little
the world seemed
a complete mystery.
Now that I am grown
the world is an even bigger mystery,
vibrating up close and immediate.
What's going on in the minds
of humanity has me puzzled.
I know I am a piece of that puzzle,
but oh my what are we playing at?
This day I pray for cosmic instructions.
For the "divinest" of interventions
and for the restoration of a few dozen reasons
to laugh and dance and sing and cry tears of joy.
I speak as a lover of life and humankind.
Praying this moment for the
wholesomeness of each and all.
