A Prayer a Day

Same old same old prayers
whispered over and over again
but for the constant need to heal and grow
our awareness in the struggles that we face daily
Lead us Oh Lord up and out
of the muck and the mire
away from every crazy choice
made in the name of ignorance
Illuminate
those in charge
Stop the powers
that be from making
one misstep after another
resulting in too
many abuses paid
yet another sister
yet another brother
Come forward now
Oh Holy Mother of Us All
to catch our fall, inform our eyes
and break-open our hearts
As we walk these mortal mazes,
we prayerfully invite the light of reason
to guide our footsteps, clear our minds
and refine our pathways
