Sometimes open-hearted
Sometimes closed tight
Sometimes caring deeply
Sometimes not so much
Sometimes listening
Sometimes too noisy within
Sometimes courageous
Sometimes fearful
Sometimes daring
Sometimes overly cautious
Sometimes too attached to comfort
Sometimes willing to sacrifice
Sometimes peaceful
Sometimes agitated
Sometimes holy still
Sometimes impulsive and impatient
Sometimes grateful
Sometimes feeling entitled
Sometimes prayerful
Sometimes disconnected
Sometimes empathetic
Sometimes apathetic
Sometimes loving
Sometimes not so much
Sometimes mind awake
Sometimes unaware
But forever reaching for my better self
Yearning to remain connected to sacred source
And so I am being human
Blessed be this mortal journey
