the mother
To the
nurturing and
tender, loving mother
To her power,
her wisdom, her courage
her loyalty, her stamina
To the divine womb
To the one who
carries the seed of breath
Riding the wheels of life and death
To the one who soulfully labors
To the heartened mother awake
To the mother never ever forsake
Readied to hear the call
Readied to catch the fall
To the mother of nature's wild
The mother of the holy child
Able to sooth the raging sea
To the one who birthed you
To the one who birthed me
