A Prayer a Day

Words we know have power. 

Lots of power.

 What we say and the words we choose

 to use have influence on hearts and minds.

It doesn't take much to pierce another using careless verbiage. 

 Open as we all are to the vibrations of resonating words, 

I offer my votes for conscious and compassionate speech. 

Clarity of thought from a honed sensitivity, before opening

 our mouths to communicate, seems a good and obvious 

approach, if society wishes to function harmoniously.

May we be more vigilant and more caring in our speaking, 

for we are all and each vulnerable in our own ways.

We mortals are passionate, it is true, in our differences

 and belief systems, so taking time to invite a gentle grace 

into our exchanges, would make for a less toxic reality. 

May we measure our words.

So be it.
