A Prayer a Day

Though war worn and weary
a strong spirit of love fuels the heart
feeling the vibrations of loyalty from family back home
A familiar story hardly minor in number
Each soldier, each family, lives and breathes
their own circumstances, and each in their own way
face the pain and the wounds of battle to be healed
None to be ignored!
None to be dismissed!
I pray there
comes the day
not so far away
when war is an
unused word
an ancient memory
a vestigial organ
plucked from
the body of ego
no longer needed
