A Prayer a Day

Young, alive and pleasantly green
are the newly planted trees on my street
I welcome them with love and appreciation
I tenderly lay hands upon them and whisper
"grow strong and wise"
Bless all the trees as they sway in the breeze
offering their oxygen and shade and beauty
Truly they are indeed sacred gifts
given to you and me
