A Prayer a Day

No reason to deny
I'm crying for humanity
With tears of compassion
Damn all war and its destruction
Damn all lovelessness and discord
For it seems the theme across the globe
I pray the melting of each frozen heart
to flow into rivers of brotherhood,
sisterhood and other-hood
Bless those who dare to care
The ones who courageously
stand to make a difference
May angels ride their shoulders
Praying for food,
clothing and shelter
for all gods people
May the children be
held in divine protection
Praying governments to come to their senses
To put people before money driven motive,
above and beyond power and personal glory.
Let us find our way into the light of day
Together in the name of peace.
