A Prayer a Day

What carries this worry to us ?
What breaks through the hours of our sleep ?
What vexes our minds from moment to moment ?
Who is it that chooses to suffer ?
What is this addiction of wanting things
to always be another way ?
Praying for the peace of acceptance in all of us.
Praying we go forward this year
with energies balanced for this human arena.
Praying we face our fears of the truth.
Praying we shake ourselves loose from stagnant posing.
May all of us choose harmlessness
in spite of the occasional growl.
May all of this world have love and comfort
and food and shelter and safety and water
and good health and hope.
May the light rays of nature’s rainbows
shine her beauty upon us.
May we be illuminated in our companionship
healed by a deeper sense of belonging.
Bless us our mortal paradigms.
