A Prayer a Day

06/25/11

Do you wonder if a tree thinks when birds land upon its limbs
“Wow these darling winged chose me”
or
“How can I get any rest around
here what with all that flitting and fluttering and tweeting.

What do you suppose the ocean thinks of floating barges and oil drilling?

Do you think the Sea gets frightened of us ever?

Or do the great oceans just keep rolling along embracing the whole of what’s so ?

What do you suppose a river notices rushing fast past roads and man made erector sets?

I’ve often pondered on July Fourths with all the fireworks
going on, just how natures’ wildlife along with sister/ brother rocks manage to cope?

We mortals do impose ourselves do we not?

We certainly do stretch out and often elbow the rest of reality.

I pray this day we increase our sensitivity to that which exists around us.

Perhaps we might slim down a bit our expanse to consider
the hearts and souls of all others and the natural design of everything.

May we as a species honor all else as well as our elegant selves.

Inviting harmony, balance and peace to prevail within the minds and hearts of every mortal.
