A Prayer a Day
11/03/11
As I sat last night in a group meditation, for an extended period of time,
(two and one half hours with a half time break) echoing through my being were the words:
No one is perfect.
Nothing is perfect.
Look not for perfect.
Perhaps, that which we call perfect is imperfection
in an ongoing, never ending wave reaching towards what is.
Suffering to be perfect is an ego passion.
It traps us. It stops us in our tracks, convincing us that we are less than.
Surely this is not new information to any of us, but never the less,
we all have bouts of perfectionistic battles within ourselves.
Ego keeps slipping in its’ suggestion that perfection is the name of the game
and unless we function with absolute perfection we are simply put,
NOT GOOD ENOUGH. And the acting out begins.
Another word that tangles the hair is SHOULD. It can be a killer word.
Use it as little as possible, it indeed can be haunting to the spirit.
I should have done this, I should have done that,
I should have said no. I should have said yes.
On and on the road of self condemnation and oppression.
My prayer today is that we release all self condemnation and
judgements in our reactions to theses trigger words and let the joy of life
and the energy of light flow through us .
There is nothing more beautiful than self acceptance reflecting its' love upon humanity.
