No matter how 

hard I try to be perfect,

 my ego isn’t having it!

Regardless of my attempts

 to control "anything"

the river of life

 runs where 

she will

Resist it

 or not 

time moves

 change happens 

And yes... yes...I know

I can’t always get what I want 

And so it goes

 Sometimes I’m feeling happy

Sometimes I’m feeling sad

But I’m a breathing human  

And my spirit’s truly glad
