A Prayer a Day
12/20/13
One day he’d step up to the plate
and hit the ball out of the park!
Another day he’d step up to the plate
and 1- 2 -3 he’d strike out!
But he always walked away smiling, no matter what.
He always played the “big game” with his all.
That was his mission...that was his job!
He knew an attachment to results would loose him
his peace...his center....his balance.
And so he was careful not to get hooked on outcome,
but rather chose to give the game his everything
in good faith.
And so he played
unconditionally
without expectation.
He won
He lost
Most times...He won!
He trusted the process.
“It’s a game” he’d say to himself.
And he gave the game his all.
And he would grin...loose or win.
Life was loyal to him and he was loyal to life.
He lived with every ounce of
juice and vitality within himself.
He engaged his heart in every
action with unmitigated largesse
and with the brightest of light
pouring from his eyes.
